blog-comment-spamming

since handgestrickt started this blog with the very simple blog-system bBlog, we were flooded by a mass of blog-comment-spam.

we can understand, that some of these spammers leave advertisements and links, but we cannot understand comments that just say "nice site" or "good design". additionally we cannot understand comments with links that do not work. maybe we are too old or have too few criminal energies. or maybe we spend our time with more useful things.

we decided to write a captcha-system for bBlog. it already runs with this blog, but we want to test it a little more, before we will release it.

also captchas were already broken. Boing Boing-cite: "The ingenious crack is to offer a free porn site which requires that you key in the solution to a captcha -- which has been inlined from Yahoo or Hotmail -- before you can gain access. Free porn sites attract lots of users around the clock, and the spammers were able to generate captcha solutions fast enough to create as many throw-away email accounts as they wanted."
